Introduction
If my CamTrakker is damaged or does not work, do I need to send in the unit? First Make sure you are using fresh batteries. Second, that you have pushed the on/off switch. Third, that you have selected only one mode setting, one delay setting and one clock setting. Fourth, that you have set the time and date, and that all functions have been set and the clock has been cycled past the ----- and back to the setting you want. Fifth, that all of the "C" cells are making good contact, and sixth, the film is loaded correctly. If you still have a problem, please have your camera unit, with batteries and film and call 1-800-654-8498 or 706-769-4025 (Georgia residents or outside the continental US) before sending the unit. We may be able to get it working over the telephone. All repairs should be sent to CamTrak South, Inc., 1050 Industrial Drive, Watkinsville, GA 30677.

What is the sensor diameter and furthest point? At 60 feet the sensor target is about 8 feet in diameter; as you get closer to the unit the circle decreases in size (i.e. at 30 feet the circle is about 3.5 feet).
What does continuous mean? The unit will take photos day and night when the sensor is triggered.
Can I trade my unit for a newer one? We do not have a trade program. We do have the ability to upgrade older 35 mm film units to the latest 35 mm film technology using your camera, if your camera is functional. The upgrade program applies only to the 35 mm film systems. The 35 mm systems can not be upgraded to the digital systems, the two systems are not electronically or mechanically interchangable.

Camera
How do you turn on/off the camera without taking a picture? A:In all CamTrakkers that were built before 2000, you must close the camera lens cover. In all units built after 1999, the external on/off switch may be used to disable the system.
Can you turn off the flash? Yes, there is a button on the top of the camera with a lightning bolt beside it. This is the flash adjust buton. Push the button to change the flash setting; one of the options is to have no flash at all.
What speed film can you use and what speed is really best? Our camera will take film speeds from 100 ISO to 2200 ISO; we recommend 400 or 800 ISO film. All DX coded film is ISO rated.
I have an "E" flashing on my camera (DLX only); what does it mean? The camera has shot a full roll of film and is ready for a fresh roll of film, the camera is empty, or the roll of film just put in the camera did not load. Push more film leader across the camera, and close the camera back.
What does the flashing zero mean? The camera is either empty, has shot a full roll of film and needs a new roll, or the film has been loaded incorrectly.
 What is a 24-hour clock? How does it work? This is a method of eliminating AM-PM time errors. Midnight is 24:00 3AM is 03:00 6AM is 06:00 9AM is 09:00 12PM is 12:00 3PM is 15:00 (12 hours +3) 6PM is 18:00 (12 hours +6) 9PM is 21:00 (12 hours +9) 11:30 PM is 23:30 (12 hours + 11 hours 30 minutes) One minute past midnight is 00:01 (0 hours plus 1 minute of the new day)
How do you rewind in the middle of a roll of film? The Olympus, Yashica and Samsung camera all have mid-roll rewind butttons located on the top or bottom of the camera. Your unit must be powered up by the "C" cells for the rewind to work.
Can the camera be taken out? The camera is dedicated to the system in the 35mm CamTrakker. The camera in the digital unit can be removed from the system and used for other purposes.
How do you set the date/time? If you have a Yashica, use the select button to select the number you wish to change; if you have an Olympus DLX camera, use the mode button. Hold the button down until a number begins to blink. Then, make the change with the set button. After setting the day, month, year, hour and minute, use the mode button to cycle the clock to-----then use the mode to select what you want printed on your photos. The Samsung camera: use the mode button to make a number in the display blink, adjust it to the correct setting using the T (counts up) or W (counts down) buttons. Push the mode button to advance to the next number. When the day, month, year, hour and minute have been set, push the mode button once. You will see CP-1 or CP-2 displayed, push the mode button and you will see ------. Push the mode button to obtain the information you want printed on the photo. Your selection will disappear and the word print will appear. If you push the mode button or turn the camera on your setting will appear then be replaced by the word print.

Unit
What is causing the unit to take photos with no animals in it? Summer heat, low batteries, a battery slipping out of place, switches set incorrectly, direct sun, heated pine trees, or a damaged sensor. Make sure your unit is mounted on a stable support, not on a barbed wire fence or sapling that will sway in the wind.
How do you aim the unit? With the system powered up with "C" cells, mount the camera on a stable post, platform or tree. Then, walk in front of the unit. When the aiming light blinks when you walk in front of the camera, the system is being triggered by your body heat. This means the system is aimed from where you are standing to where the system is mounted.
Is the unit waterproof? The unit is weather proof; it can not be submerged without sustaining damage.
What are the time delays, and how do I set them? For models built after 1999: You can set your CamTrakker for one of six delay options. (CHOOSE ONLY ONE.) To set the time delay, use switch 4 through 8 on the red switch plate.
What type of "C" Cells should I use? We recommend Alkaline Energizers.
Where is my on/off switch? How does it work? The on/off switch is a black circle on the lower left-hand side of the system housing. It will change the aiming light from red, no photos, to green, photos will be taken. It does not turn the camera off and on.
Can I put the unit on it's side? No, the unit must be mounted in a vertical position. Animals trigger the camera by walking in front of the unit, going from right to left or left to right.
Can I put the unit up high and point it down? This can cause tripping problems for the system. This changes the passive sensor pattern from a circle to an ellipse. It can mounted this way, but it takes some practice to make sure animals will trigger the camera.
Is switch 1 an on/off switch? Switch 1 is a mode control switch, for continuous operation. The system on/off switch is located on the outside of the housing and looks like a black circle. When the aiming light is red no photos will be taken, when the aiming light turns green, after you gently push the switch, the camera will take photos when the selected time delay has elapsed and the sensor is triggered
How large is the system? The CamTrakker is 5.75" high, 4.5" deep (including the mounting bracket) and 6.75" wide.
